Psychotherapist | Counsellor
Registered Counsellor & Clinical Member with Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC)
Hi, I'm Jeanette — a psychotherapist in Singapore working with busy professionals, expats, and third-culture kids who are juggling ambition with burnout, or trying to make sense of identity across cultures.

If you've built a successful life on the outside but feel disconnected, anxious, or stretched thin on the inside, you're not alone — and this is exactly the work I do.

My Therapeutic Approach
Welcoming All Parts of You
I work from a core belief rooted in Internal Family Systems (IFS): there are no bad parts of you — only parts that have learned to protect you in different ways. Underpinning this is a psychodynamic lens — looking at how early relationships and past experiences continue to shape the patterns you find yourself in today, often outside conscious awareness.
-
Perhaps a highly critical inner part helped you achieve professional success, but now leaves you stuck in anxiety and perfectionism.
-
Maybe a people-pleasing part helped you adapt to new environments, but now makes it hard to set healthy boundaries.
Therapy is our chance to explore these inner dynamics safely, without judgement — understanding not just what the pattern is, but where it came from and why it made sense at the time.
I draw on a few different approaches, chosen for what you need:
-
Psychodynamic therapy — for understanding how past experiences and relationships shape present-day patterns
-
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) — for processing trauma and deep-seated stress
-
Brainspotting — a body-based approach to release stuck stress responses
-
Internal Family Systems (IFS) — for working gently with conflicting inner parts
-
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) — for living a values-driven life, even when difficult emotions show up

Evidence-Based Therapy, Tailored to You

Why Work With Me
Lived Experience Meets Clinical Expertise
My path to becoming a psychotherapist in Singapore wasn't linear — and that's exactly what lets me connect deeply with my clients. Born in Malaysia, educated in London, and now settled in Singapore, I understand the strengths and the strain of the global citizen and expat experience firsthand.
My former corporate background as a Managing Director gives me first-hand insight into workplace pressure, executive burnout, and chronic stress. Combined with my time as a personal trainer — which taught me just how closely the mind and body are connected — this isn't theory to me. I know it through lived experience.
The Relationship Comes First
I believe the relationship between therapist and client is, in many ways, the work itself. The techniques and modalities matter — but real change happens inside a genuine, trusting connection, not despite it. I show up as a real person in the room with you: honest, present, and willing to sit with whatever you bring, rather than hiding behind clinical distance.
This means our sessions are a collaborative dialogue, not something done to you. I'll be transparent about how and why I'm working the way I am, and if at any point I think another professional would serve you better, I'll tell you and help you find them. Your wellbeing always comes before my ego or my caseload.
-
Professionals and Executives: Navigating burnout, perfectionism, high-stakes corporate pressure, and chronic workplace stress.
-
Expats and Global Citizens: Adjusting to the complexities of a new culture, handling major transitions, or carrying the weight of living between identities.
-
Third-Culture Kids and Adults: Unpacking a cross-cultural upbringing and making sense of a fluid or fragmented sense of "home."
-
Anyone Who's Ever Felt Like They Don't Fit In: Whether it's in a room, a culture, a family, or your own skin — you don't need a "reason" to deserve a space where all of you is welcome.
-
High-Achievers: Anyone feeling the strain of a fast-paced life who wants to learn to work with their inner world instead of constantly fighting it.

Take the Next Step Toward Clarity
I founded Parts of Us to be a space where you can bring your whole self — your vulnerabilities, your ambitions, your anxieties. Untangling years of stress or identity conflict takes courage, and finding the right therapist is the most vital piece of that puzzle. If what you've read here resonates, I'd love to hear from you — and if I'm not the right fit, I'll help you find someone who is.
